Hardox® HiTuf and Strenx® 700 in ripper shanks have proven extremely resistant to breakage due to their toughness.

Conventional shanks are normally made in high alloy steel and forged. But they will not achieve the same level of toughness as the lean chemical composition of quenched and tempered Hardox® and Strenx® steels.
